Kul ändå att jag både hunnit göra en jeanskampanj och blivit plåtad för en bok om australiensisk strandkultur under vår slashas-séjour här i Oz… Här är en bild från den boken, foto Akila Berjaoui.

Jag har sett The Brian Jonestown Massacre lira live flera gånger men av nån anledning inte lyckats se DIG!-dokumentären förrens nu… Grymt bra är den iallafall och dagens tips till alla som diggar balla grejer.

Sent om sido lyckades jag läsa ut Bob Dylans Chronicles Volume One, en rysligt bra bok alltså! Vet inte varför jag väntat så länge med den, men så blir det ibland med böcker… Här är ett favoritavsnitt där Dylan minns Chloe, en stentuff beatnik-brud vars Tribeca-soffa han brukade slagga på när han va ny i New York…

Hoppas han gjorde det och hoppas att Chronicles Volume Two and Three kommer någon gång…

Translation: Finally finished reading Bob Dylan’s Chronicles Volume One. Above is a favorite episode, when Dylan is reminiscing beyond cool beatnik chick Chloe, who’s couch in Tribeca he often frequented when he was new in New York.

Fick med mig en äkta maxi-kjol i mocka ($6) från vår vintage-jakt i de Blå bergen. Men eftersom jag inte gillar maxi-kjolar så mycket klippte jag av den strax ovanför knät, med Vanessa Redgrave i Blow Up som referens uppe i hjärnkontoret. Va tycks?

Translation: Found a 1970′s maxi-skirt in suede when we were vintage-hunting in the Blue Mountains. But since I don’t like maxi-skirts so much I cut it off just above the knee, inspired by Vanessa Redgrave in Blow Up. You like?

Wow, vad det är uppfriskande med mode som struntar i det snäva (och småtrista) trendklimatet och tar en tripp till drömdestinationen Sedona i Arizona istället. Jag syftar på Jaclyn Hodes senaste kollektion för hennes medvetna modemärke AWAVEAWAKE. Såhär beskriver hon den i sin pressrealse…

AWAVEAWAKE Fall/Winter 2013 is inspired by the colors of the setting sun on the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona. Designer Jaclyn Hodes stopped in the desert town twice this summer, as a halfway point from her drive from Los Angeles to the Jemez Mountain Range of northern New Mexico for summer solstice. Inspired by the palette of the landscape, she incorporated colors like gold dawn, red rock, clay pot, sky indigo, hollyhock pink, midnight purple, shadow black and desert coral into the fabrics. In addition to organic cotton knits, bamboo lace, and hemp blends, the focus of Fall/Winter ’13 is silk, which is by definition sustainable. “I love the famous Martha Graham adage that the body is a sacred garment,” says the designer. “I think of about how best to drape another layer over the original ‘sacred garment,’ and silk seems like the most reverent material of all.”
