Sofia Jannok…

Every day I was swimming in the lake outside town and then went back to the music stage by the water at Skeppsholmen. Stockholm at its best! Still hot at 7pm when Sofia Jannok came on.

She sings with a mix of Jojk and Sami language , talks about Avatar and the Sami people who are now making a demonstration up in Jokkmokk to stop exploration of land and  mine. The music is a bridge to awareness about the life we want to live and preserve and about the wisdom of the ethnic cultures. This festival takes a stand for that. Thank you!

First Aid Kit…

Pure voices and performance. Walking around the area and taking it in from a distance. This was my second concert and I loved it. Read more here.

CocoRosie

What a day! The most amazing sunshine and swimming in a lake with clear water coming from a well…warm from the beauty of it all taking the next step…into the Stockholm Music and Art Festival and CocoRosie. No camera! In the creativity of the moment I asked a very sweet young woman, Felicia Yllenius from Musicstage if I could use her photos. She said yes and let me make my own choice from her pictures. Thank you Felicia! Thank you so much for your generosity!

Polaroids

IMG_6857IMG_6858IMG_6859IMG_6860About 10 years ago I did a job in Paris for Elle Japan and never saw the magazine. So here are the polaroids, all I have left from that occasion. I do not remember the photographers name nor the stylist (this thing called memory!) but I do remember my relationship with Francois, a half Vietnamese, half French man, whom I was in love with then and that he was in the studio with me. The lead theme from the movie ”In the mood for Love” by Wong Kar-wai , was playing non-stop  and set the mood for the pictures. The flowers were my love object. I remember the feeling of deep passion and have no idea how it came out in the pictures. The world of pictures and illusions! Now the rain stopped and I will leave the cafe where I`m sitting to see if there is a rainbow I can follow…

In my Heart…

Ok I took a holiday from the blog! For one, the time with the Grandmothers was not allowed to be documented, all the ceremonies were just to be experienced  within, which made it so much more precious. It was a real restful state to fall into, letting go of all social media and just be in the moment. Ceremonies and deep prayers around the sacred fire that connected me to my roots. Now I`m back here and I do have a few moments to share from my time with Grandmothers, some social time, our last day boat excursion…

Sacha, assistant to grandma Flordemayo from New Mexico, became my dear friend and we had an outing together the last day…DSC_7485walking down to the water at TantoDSC_7514feeling the joy of the friendship and having my camera with me againDSC_7531We met a friend of mine, Peter and had a ride in his car, stopped by a park and had a wild disco moment. Oh it was great to dance! DSC_7378Sunset over the waterDSC_7566The next day we all had sightseeing with the Grandmothers…here grandma Pauline from New ZealandDSC_7576and the two of us. I was honoured to be Swedish grandma, which I am.DSC_7594Grandma  Beatrice Long Visitor Holy Dance from Oglala Dakota. She had never been on a boat before.DSC_7597 Neither had her elder sister Rita Long Visitor Holy Dance from Oglala Dakota and her son Nathan.DSC_7437The sacred fire was burning for 7 days and  kept by a fire keeping team. The fire was initiated at the Clarion hotel, Skanstull, on a terrace and after grandmothers 3 days of closed council  it was moved  to a park opposite the hotel, for the 4 days of open council. Clarion were hosting the event with an open heart, they fully understood the deep beauty and importance of it. The only purpose for these old grandmothers, the honoured wise elders from indigenous cultures around mother Earth, to do this extensive tiresome travels, is to unite wisdom, friendship, love, knowledge, wholeness, understanding…to heal the planet…for us all to know what a precious Earth we have in our care…the mother who feeds us all. She needs our love. We need to love ourselves and each others  to know how to. It`s all co-creation.That is fashion! I wish i could have shown you all the ceremonial garments they wore and especially grandma Agnes, 90. Her robes could be a whole fashion story. Thank you! I keep you all in my heart and memory.
