I början på veckan åkte jag och en hög andra bloggare till La Gacilly, den lilla staden utanför Rennes i Frankrike där märket Yves Rocher började sin resa. Jag är ruskigt tacksam över att få ha varit med på detta, det var en njutning för själen och jag önskar mig tillbaka snarast möjligt. Tack Yves Rocher och Presskontakterna för en fantastisk resa!

At the beginning of the week I went with a bunch of other bloggers to La Gacilly, the little town outside of Rennes in France where the Yves Rocher brand started it’s journey. I’m very greatful to have been a part of this trip, it was total soul food and I want to go back as soon as possible. Than you yves Rocher and Presskontakterna for a great trip!

I packed my bags and went to the airport at.. 4AM? Hella early.

At Landvetter Airport here in Gothenburg you find Rituals! I was far too tired to even take a sniff, so I just fell asleep on the plane to Paris right away.

We all met up at Charles de Gaulle in Paris and took another flight to Rennes. From there we then sat on a bus for an hour to finally arrive at the Yves Rocher Eco Hotel Spa, La Grée des Landes.

The air was crisp, the sounds of the city were many hours away and it was all so incredibly peaceful.

The garden where the chefs went out to pick their herbs and vegetables for our dinners.

The rooms were peaceful, very calm and clean without feeling sterile. And of course, the view! A wavy green skyline. I could live like this forever.

Damn, the food was great! So fresh and well made. I don’t like the whole “smear three drops of undefined goo in artsy swirls over the plate and put a star cut rare berry on top” food culture, this is what food should look like.

At the spa we received a treatment, I picked a massage with jojoba oil and hot Entada seeds. How cool are they?

One day we had lunch at a little place in town, that day I probably had my best cup of coffee ever. Not sure if it was because of the whole situation or the coffee itself. Probably both.

In town you can see a huge photo exhibition, I love the way that they smack the huge prints up on the walls. Seeing wonderful photography at such size is quite breathtaking.

In town we found a small soap shop where I caved in for a scented candle called Baume des Selliers from Bougies la Francaise.

In town we visited the little house where Yves Rocher grew up and at the late 1950′s let his dreams loose and started the Yves Rocher brand.

We had a trip to the Yves Rocher botanical garden.

At the garden we sat down and listened to interesting info about the Yves Rocher plants and how they cultivate them.

We also got a tour through the area where they dry plants before making the extracts that go into the products. Here’s one of their drying rooms.

And here they store big boxes of the dried plants. They are stored for 3 years at max before being used.

At last we visited the factory where the products are poured and packed. They asked us not to take any pictures there sadly. And at last a stressed out picture of me. The trip home was hideous, lots of delays and I just wanted to get home. Or why would I have needed to go home at all? I could have lived there, just skipped Sweden.. If you go to La Gacilly, don’t buy a ticket home because you will want to stay.
