Nail polish, Daisy Beauty Expo, cute animals

HI everyone!! I haven’t updated you at all on here about what’s been up lately, I had a wonderful Saturday in Stockholm at the Daisy Beauty Expo and I came home with a jam packed suitcase of fun stuff to show you, I’m a bit overwhelmed about where to even start, so I’m showing you a nail polish to begin with. I posted a few pictures on Instagram (@killercolours) the other day if you want to see more of what’s coming, let me know if you’re interested in something special.

This is Peach Lilies from Ellos, a wonderful beige toned peachy pink nail polish that works wonders on my pale pink repelling hands. Perfect spring shade! Two coats and it dried quickly, a great one for only 39 SEK. available at the Ellos website.

Hugs and kisses to everyone who came to the expo, I’m blessed to have so many wonderful bloggers and brands close, I’m glad I get to know you all. XOXOXO!!!

BUXOM Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette

BUXOM just launched in Sweden through KICKS, they have a great eyeshadow system that I’ve been very interested in trying. It’s finally time, and I’m not disappointed!

You buy an empty Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette (145 SEK), slide the little drawer out and pop up to 6 BUXOM Single Bar Eyeshadow (99 SEK) of choice in there, you have a bunch of matte, satin, shimmer and metallic shades to pick from, ranging from matte and neutral to bright liquid metals and dark glimmering jewels. This way you can build a palette after your own personal needs.

The BUXOM eyeshadows are said to have a “built in primer effect”, I’m excited to try it out and see how they work on the eyes. They have a really interesting texture, all of them are so creamy they nearly feel wet, and even though some of them are sheerer than others the sheen is so smooth and even it ends up looking like a silky wash on the skin, perfect for a fresh eye makeup or layering over other shadows.

Shade picks and descriptions further down!

You pop your individually wrapped eyeshadow singles in the little drawer on the right, then slide it back in. So smart, and no chipped eyeshadows as you don’t need to use force picking them out!

Room Service – “iridescent mint”
A beautiful multidimensional mint with a bright golden shine, can’t wait to highlight smokey eyes with it. The formula is on the semi-sheer side, it builds up to full opacity very quickly but will work beautifully layered over a darker shade as it will let a base colour show through.

No Faux – “iridescent snakeskin”
That classic reddish brown eyeshadow that shifts aqua, but in its most perfect form. The colour shift is so intense and high shine it completely JUMPS off the skin. This one is really opaque in formula.

Posh Purple – “shimmering violet”
A neutral purple with a pink sheen, very multidimensional and “grown up” for being so bright. The formula is quite sheer, but super even! So strange. It applies like the most ghostly metallic with a light touch, but it is easily built up to a true purple. I love formulas like this.

Patent Leather – “sparkling blackberry”
A dirty silvery purple with large gritty shimmers, almost leaning glittery. Not a single speck of glitter flying around when I swatched it, quite amazed! This one is also a bit sheer but easy to build up. Another one perfect for layering over a darker shade.

Mink Magnet – “metallic bronze”
A golden bronze with super high shine and opacity, one swipe and it looks like gritty molten metal. Insanely gorgeous! The formula is a lot softer than in the other shades, a bit too soft! I’m afraid this one would shatter immediately if I dropped the palette. The softness also comes with some shimmer fallout with application.

Gold Status -”metallic brass”
A citrusy golden shade with the same glowy sheen and buildable quality as Posh Purple. Eyeshadow perfection!

Life on Mars

January 10th 2016 David Bowie passed away, making it a year ago yesterday. My heart is broken and it’s been on my mind at all times lately. We went to see the movie David Bowie Is last night, a tour through the David Bowie exhibition at V&A back in 2013. A wonderful thing to do on a sad day, as it brought happy tears instead of sad tears to our eyes. Bless  him!

I’ve had a shitty depressive sleep deprived time lately which made me trash an idea of something a lot more fantastic for the blog, but last 30 minutes before leaving for the movie I felt I HAD to put some makeup on, I just couldn’t keep from it. It instantly lifted my heart! The days are dark and I had only a minute to photograph it so I didn’t get the best pictures, but here it is: Life on Mars!

Bette

Yesterday I threw on a blackened lip for the first time in months. NARS Bette is a dark yet saturated garnet red shade without any purple undertones, paired with a black liner it turns into the perfect deep cherry lip. I don’t have anything else remotely similar in my collection, this shade is so odd! Blog post about it here.

And as always with a crisp dark lip I felt the need to pair it with something messy on the eyes to balance it off. Spidery lashes, dark messy lower lash lines and a creamy white eyelid+waterline is what I went for. Dark but not smokey.
