Why are you a vegan?

- I love animals, it’s much more environment friendly than a non-vegan diet, it’s so easy to cook fresh and healthy food (and the food tastes better!), I don’t think that animals were put on this planet to be taken advantage of by us humans just “because we can” (we don’t feed, kill and eat other humans just because we can..?), I feel a lot more confident when I don’t need to feel bad for what I eat, and I feel a lot healthier physically from not eating animal products that are difficult to digest. My body fits into this lifestyle like a glove! With some B12 supplements just to be sure I can’t find a reason not to live like this.

Any advice for someone who wants to become a vegan?

- If you’re eating meat you should probably start with a vegetarian diet (vegetarians eat no meat but eggs/milk/other animal  products while vegans eat nothing that comes from animals). Exchange a meal or two a week and get to know the food, stuff often taste strange when you’re not used to it. Then just step up over a period of time, try the whole thing out in a slow pace! Start including new types of protein as fast as possible like soy, seitan, tempeh, tofu, beans, nuts.. There are loads of interesting alternatives to meat out there. Make sure to read a lot about what you must eat to stay healthy, no one can live on cucumber and tomatoes.

You will end up with great cooking skills, a bigger interest in food and find lots of interesting international dishes! But you must know that if you can’t do this to 100% it’s totally fine, there’s nothing wrong with doing it partly, let’s say you eat vegan food two days a week. That’s just awesome! Veganism is no penis enlargement competition, even though it might seem so sometimes. It’s a healthy way to be kind to the planet.

More people should definitely try it, it isn’t as frightening as it might sound. If you compare it to the fashionable LCHF diet it’s just as easy/hard to get into, it’s not a more complicated thing to achieve, so to speak. If you’re able to do LCHF (which so many people seem to be) you can just as well do vegan!

Could you please give us more tips on healthy food and snacks? I know you’ve already tipsed about the juicer, but it would be nice if you could share your personal favourite substitutes for candy.

- I almost never eat candy, but if I do I eat what I want to eat. Me and my boyfriend eat loads of fruit though! I allow myself to splurge how much I want on fresh fruit as a feel good thing, so I always make sure to have at least graprefruit and oranges at home, those are my favourites. If you want something that’s more sugary I would say dried apples and cranberries, they taste almost like foam candy and winegum. Haha!

Some of my holiday snacks, fruits/nuts/berries dipped and rolled in different sorts of dark chocolate. Yum!

Could you make a blogg post about which brands that do animal-testing? Which brands we animal lovers should avoid of course. Are all the drug store brands, isadora, max factor, maybelline off limits?

- I wrote a blog post about this either here or on the Solo site (where my blog was before I moved to Rodeo)!

Hur är det med penslar med äkta hår, förekommer det någon form av djurplågeri där?

- Här har du en länk om makeuppenslar och djurplågeri. Företag som MAC påstår att håret i deras naturborstar är sådant som naturligt fallit av djuren, men på något sätt lyckas de massproducera borstar som de säljer för under femhundra spänn och fortfarande vinner på, hur får de då ihop håren? Tvångsborsta stressade ponnys? Nej, ekvationen där går inte riktigt ihop för mig. Så som jag ser det så man inte beredd att bära en minkkappa tycker jag att man kan spola sminkborstarna i naturhår också, de består ju faktiskt av samma sak – hår från djur som ”skördas” med mer eller mindre dödlig utgång för vår skull.

Do you know if the cosmetics you use are tested on animals? I try to avoid this as much as I can, and it would be very helpful to know!

- I stay away from them too, but a few products here and there are. I’ve got both old stuff and companies that send me products. If you’re uncertain about a specific product you can always just google it, or ask me on Formspring and I’ll try to google it up for you unless I already know. 100% dedication is not the most important thing for me, I try not to pick on myself for my failures, doing that only builds a huge wall of angst. That’s just like losing weight, riding a horse or whatever, if you get scared and hate yourself for not being as good as you wish, you’ll never be motivated and strong enough to keep going. I rather live my life being able to breathe and take a chance now and then, and do good overall. I already do much more than most people, I always try to tell myself that.

- Not my favourite “guru”, but I like that he specializes in older women!

Din engelska är så bra, har du bott i ett engelskttalande land?

- Nej, men jag har bloggat tvåspråkigt nästan varje dag i 3½ år, det har gjort sitt!

Can you speak any other languages?

- Well, Swedish is my native language, then English of course, plus some bad German. I know a whole bunch of words and some phrases but not really how to put them together. Haha. I understand quite a lot when I hear it though!

- Yes, vi har internet att tacka faktiskt!

Do you have a boyfriend or husband?

- Haha! not a husband, I’m 19. But I live with my boyfriend.

- I don’t have a specific music genre, but do I look like a horror movie? Haha! No, I don’t think that it influences my makeup looks.

What genres of music do you like? Do you have a favorite band or musician?

- I like many genres, but Tom Waits is the man.

- Jag läser alldeles för lite, men jag maler igenom Edgar Allan Poes samlade verk för tillfället och jag är lite förälskad. Värt att läsa om man pallar med artonhundratalsengelskan. Översättningar känns inte värdigt på ett så målande språkbruk.
- Ed Harcourt – Rain on the Pretty Ones. Jag grinar varje gång jag hör den om jag lyssnar för fokuserat.

What do you do besides this blog? Work? Studies?
What are your dreams for the future?

- Not much at the moment, I have my blog, do some freelance writing and watch movies. Resting my soul a bit I guess.
- In the future I hope I’ll get educated in special effects makeup and/or beauty makeup, the first one for the thrill and the second one just to have my skill on paper.
