Winter Darkness

The name of todays eyeshadow matches the whole situation pretty well. This is the makeup that I wore at work today, where I was as dressed up as I got this new years eve. I’m so tired so I’m celebrating the evening indoors with movies. However, the pictures were taken early this morning in my bathroom (where the only strong source of light is during the winter mornings) so they aren’t very good. Swedish Winter Darkness you know.

The makeup is mainly a shiny silver with a dab of opalescent purple along the lower lashline to get some colour in there. Black pencil on the waterline which I rarely wear, but it feels totally right for a party styled smokey eye. If I didn’t have tired watering eyes I would have worn some false lashes too, but I skipped it.

Happy new year darlings, I hope you’re having a great evening and that you’re looking forward to another year with moi on the internetz! xoxoxo!

I <3 Thierry Mugler!

The fact that I love Thierry Mugler perfumes is no secret. Well, except for Womanity which is one of the worst scents I know. UGH! Alien and Angel on the other hand are just bitchin’ and I have collected quite a lot of the limited edition versions over the years, let’s take a look at them.

So here’s my little family! Clockwise from the bottom left:

Angel The Taste of Fragrance (enhanced with deep dark cocoa)
Angel Eau de Toilette (fruitier and less dirty than the original but just as strong, not limited edition)
Angel Aqua Chic (sparkling summer version, read my review here)
Alien Aqua Chic (sparkling summer version with spicy ginger)
Alien Sunessence 2011 Or d’Ambre (a warm ambery version with kiwi)
Alien The Taste of Fragrance (enhanced with salty caramel)

Makeup Academy (MUA) “Shattered Ice”

Crackle nail polish? Nope, still don’t like them. Not sure why I keep trying. Hoping to find the perfect combination maybe?

Makeup Academy (MUA) Eyeshadow Palette “Pretty Pastels”

I’m longing for spring. And with that comes longing for pastels, a feeling that I’m now feeding with the Pretty Pastels shadow palette from Makeup Academy/MUA. Twelve feathery light pastel shades, creamy and silky like all shimmer shadows from this brand, and the pigmentation is great. The swath you see below is on clean skin without primer/base. Here’s another look at the quality.

This is one of those palettes that will look AWESOME on really fair skin. Might look ashy on medium/dark skin, then you might prefer something that’s more whitened in colour, like Palette d’Antoinette from Lime Crime which you can see me use here. Those shadows have more of a base colour while these have a translucent look which works best on fair skin.

Available at the MUA website for £4.
