Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick “Sexer”

Let’s look at another Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick! Sexer is the one that catched my eye right away when I first saw the display, and it still shares first place with Underage Red.

Sexer is a bright magenta pink with ultra fine blue shimmer, almost a metallic glow. It is super matte and wears all day, maybe even the next day as it stains the lips a lot. Great for long work days or when you want to go out not caring about what your lips will do as hours pass by. Pinks don’t get much better than this, do they?!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick “Lovecraft”

I have mentioned it before but I’ll say it again: Well named products is a f*ing open goal for makeup companies. I have written about the Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow line before and how all the names just make me crazy, same thing applies to her whole damn line. She is the product naming queen.

The Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick line is a complete hit and miss, some shades are flawless retro style matte (available in both shimmery and non-shimmery shades) that wear super well, while some are rubbery and chalky, 100% impossible to wear. Sparkly inky blue Poe is a great example of that horrible formula aswell as a great example of a well named product that I just HAD to have. Bad combo. The ashy cool toned pink called Lovecraft hits home though, the formula is flawless and the name completely lured me in. GOOD combo! It’s not even a shade that I tend to wear, it’s a bit too purple tinged for my taste, but who cares?

Amethyst

I felt it was time for a winged cartoon eye, overly highlighted skin and purple lips, so that’s what I’ve worn today. Quite simple, quite crazy. Love this lip!

IsaDora Bohemian Flair makeup look

Today a whole set of studio stuff arrived at my door (3 softboxes, a black backdrop, a good reflector) so I’m kind of planning on making a new start, I will from now on be able to document and photograph makeup looks during other hours of the day than just the well-lit ones, and I will probably step up my YouTube game at the same time. I’m excited!

I gave the stuff a test run today to photograph a makeup look using the new IsaDora Bohemian Flair collection for fall 2016. Out in stores now! I haven’t shown you the collection as a whole (check it out over at Purity), but here’s a handful of the cool toned products that go beautifully together. Do you want to see more from this yummy collection maybe?

Overall I can mention that the new Lip Desire Sculpting Lipsticks are pretty, but they are quite damn slippery. You definitely benefit from buying the matching Sculpting Lipliner which will make the colour stand out and the result more budge proof, plus the fact that the pencils themselves are of SUCH great quality! You will find yourself reaching for them with other lipsticks too.

The Eye Shadow Quartet in Soft Suede is lovely in texture and has beautiful greyish lilac colours, but the colour depth is quite bland. I often find that IsaDora palettes have that problem, am I the only one? There is no pale highlight shade and there is no deep smokey shade, just four “kinda similar” shades that you can’t really build a dimensional look with. I had to use my face highlight as an inner corner highlight just to kick the eye off.
