They all just.. ran out. I had to pop into my backup stash three times this week to get my fix! After trying a zillion beauty products through the years you just end up sticking to certain things (aka the irreplaceable gold medalists), I get the itch just by thinking of being without these three.
I’m planning on saving Selma though, she’s still going strong.
Pixi Glow Tonic
A toner heavy in aloe vera (calming) and witch hazel (tightening, calming) with 5% glycolic acid (exfoliating). My skin is so sensitive these days, even the wrong side of a cotton pad can leave my skin burning, but it still loves this toner! By using this daily I have been able to skip all other kinds of gritty or acid/enzyme packed face scrubs, it exfoliates mildly but effective enough to keep my skin in a solid well-exfoliated state. I apply it with a cotton pad after cleansing with a balm in the evening, and some days in the morning after a splash of cold water. Always followed by a good serum and cream. Rallelujah.
Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara
A tubing mascara (comes off like little pantyhose with warm water and a cotton pad, no smudging!) with the thinnest, loveliest wand ever. I’ve never found a quicker mascara for creating heavy pitch black lashes, it basically applies itself. I’m not even smudging my lower lashline with this wand, after all these years I still can’t apply mascara with a regular brush without making a mess but with this one I can. Haha. Review and demo here!
Rouge Bunny Rouge Impalpable Finishing Powder Diaphanous
Invisible face powder. If you thought that your 100% silica powders like MUFE HD were smooth, fine and invisible you just haven’t tried this one. I often find the HD powders having a scary texture, they fly everywhere so that I breathe them in when I use them and they feel stiff and dry on my skin. The Impalpable Finishing Powder is just.. invisible. It takes the shine of my foundation down to a satin matte and keeps it like that all day without turning into an even goopier mess after a few hours. Fills in pores and fine lines beautifully (undereye heaven!) and doesn’t reflect white in photos.
