Moondust

Here’s what I wore today, a soft shimmery smokey eye, bronzed cheeks and a nude lip. I LOVE that I’ve been able to go back to this colour on my eyebrows, this INGLOT eyeshadow has the perfect ashy, almost purple undertone.

Sigil Inspired eyeshadows – swatch & review

Igår dök mina ögonskuggor från Sigil Inspired upp i brevlådan, åh vad jag längtat efter detta paket! Åtta ljuvliga lösa skuggor i spännande nyanser.

Topp!

Yesterdays my eyeshadows from Sigil Inspired showed up, oh how I’ve longed for this package! Eight lovely loose eyeshadows in interesting colours. Of course I dug in immediately, so let’s take a look! You find Sigil Inspired on Etsy.

A problem that I need to mention from the start: The shadows come in unlabeled jars. D’OH! I’ve read that people have ordered stacks (jars screwed together into stacks) and they were unlabeled, so I made sure to get the separate jar thinking that I would get labels on them. Nope, none at all. I’ve been sitting here comparing my jars to the pictures in the webshop and now I hope I got the shades right but the greens could be mixed up (which I’ve sent an e-mail to Tammy behind this brand about, will update if I get help with this). Suuuch a stupid problem to have to deal with. Please fix it!

Apart from that the eyeshadows are overall of good quality. There are a few bad ones but those are mentioned below. But the formula is soft and smooth without being dry, and even though some shadows are quite sparkly they create surprisinly little fallout during application. They don’t get ugly when blended out either. Yay!

Top row: Nomad Queen, Fortune-Teller, Sun Warrior, Talking With Maple. Bottom row: River Stopper (?), Home Keeper (?), Stone Witch-Doctor (?), Mountain Herbs Collector (?)

sigil inspired eyeshadows

The jars are square and labeled with the brand on top, but bare on the bottom. Good for seeing the shadow, bad for knowing the name of it. Haha

sigil inspired eyeshadows

Swatched on a thin layer of foundation: Nomad Queen, Fortune-Teller, Sun Warror, Talking With Maple

Nomad Queen – A super intense greenish copper. Smooth formula and a GLOWING colour. Not super original as I’ve seen shades like this by a few other eyeshadow brands but if you don’t own anything like it then you must have it!

Fortune-Teller – Shown in the store as a hot pinky purple colour with a purple sparkle. Felt chalky, was hard to apply and the purple sparkle clings together and wipes off during application. No-go.

Sun Warrior – Shown in the store as a copper orange with a strong pink duochrome, no duochrome at all visible for me, just a carrot orange with slight shimmer. A total letdown as it seems amazing in the shop pictures. Very misleading picture or did I get the wrong product? Formula was ok. No-go.

Talking With Maple – Pale beige with a soft peachy golden shimmer. Ahhh you know I’m weak for colours like this! The formula is good and it has a gorgeous sparkly shimmer that really shines. GORGEOUS, get it now.

Swatched on a thin layer of foundation: River Stopper (?), Home Keeper (?), Stone Witch-Doctor (?), Mountan Herbs Collector (?)

River Stopper(?) – A dark greyish forest green with rich golden green sparkle. Lovely shade, applied well for being so sparkly. The name could be mixed up with Home Keeper.

Home Keeper(?) – A almost greyed out base with olive green shimmer. Applies smoothly. My favourite of these two darker greens. The name could be mixed up with River Stopper.

Stone Witch Doctor(?) – A medium beige with a pale seafoam green shimmer, super smooth application and stunning shade. Doesn’t actually match any of the colours I ordered according to the shop, blarghhh.

Mountain Herbs Collector(?) – A dark earthy green with strong pinky red sheen, my absolute favourite of all these shadows. So original and beautiful. The name cold be mixed up with Stone Witch Doctor.

Stone Witch-Doctor(?) all over the top lid, River Stopper(?) in the crease, Mountain Herbs Collector(?) on the bottom lashline and Talking With Maple on the inner corner. The eyeliner is Becca Neo Classic.

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow “I300 Pine Green”

Make Up For Ever sopade nyligen hela sin gigantiska standardlinje med ögonskuggor och ersatte den med nya Artist Shadow. Modigt drag, men SÅ SÅ SÅ bra!

Make Up For Ever recently got rid of their entire basic line of eyeshadows and replaced it with the new Artist Shadow. A brave move, but SO SO SO good! The new formula is fantastic, it almost feels damp and glides on soft and evenly without falldown. The line breaks down into several finishes: matte (M), satin (S), iridescent (I), diamond (D) and metallic (ME), which then is what the shadow name starts with. Well, name.. On the packaging you have a finish name which in this case is I300, but the shadow also has a “real name” which isn’t named on the packaging but possible to find by googling it. So frustrating, why can’t everyone stop doing that? Numbers have no personality and are hard to remember.

Name frustration aside, here’s I300, also called Pine Green. A cool toned dark forest green with shimmer and an ashy undertone. Perfect both as an eyeliner and in a heavy smokey eye, the undertone of the colour is so grey that it doesn’t feel too intense. Happy colours that are easy to wear, Love it! The shade reminds me a lot of Neo Classic eyeliner from Becca which is one of my absolute favourites when it comes to green on the eyes. I peeked at this colour at Sephora (Stockholm, Biblioteksgatan) last year and really wished that I had bought it, so when a nice friend of mine visited recently she got it for me. Heartity heart!

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow – I300 Pine Green

make up for ever artist shadow i300 pine green

I300 Pine Green applied straight onto the eyelid and blended out with a brush. When worn out I’d use a medium brown or peachy eyeshadow to blend the edges with for it to bring out the crisp cool tone. A pale golden or bluish highlighter on the inner corner would also be lovely.

Cool toned eyes with KIKO Water Eyeshadow “Light Taupe” & Cool Touch Eyeshadow “Ingenious Taupe”

Recension längre ner i inlägget!

I’ve been into cooler eyeshadows lately without wanting to go too blue or purple, Misty Rock from By Terry which I wrote about a few days ago measures up to that craving aswell as these two taupe shades from KIKO Cosmetics. When combined they turn into true magic. Review at the end of the blog post!

I’m wearing Ingenious Taupe all over the lids with Light Taupe patted on top at the center of the top lid and inwards, plus on the inner corner.

KIKO Cosmetics Cool Touch Eyeshadow – Ingenious Taupe (08), Water Eyeshadow – Light Taupe (227)

KIKO Cosmetics Cool Touch Eyeshadow – Ingenious Taupe (08) is a smooth cream-to-powder kind of eyeshadow that comes in a jar with double lids to keep the moisture in. It really is cool when you touch it, but it applies like a regular powder eyeshadow. It has a tendency to slip off eyeshadow brushes, I guess that’s why it came with a sponge tip applicator (which I threw away before trying it, heh). I apply it with my fingers and it works perfectly! Ingenious Taupe is a smooth taupe grey. Perfect basic shade.

KIKO Cosmetics Water Eyeshadow – Light Taupe (227) is a powder eyeshadow that can be used both wet and dry. I never bother applying shadows wet so dry is my way to go. Light Taupe is a pale cool toned taupe, somehow it reads slightly purple on the skin. 100% ethereal and sooo useful!

Bitch perfect

Today I wore another Laura Mercier Caviar Stick on the eyes, Burnished Bronze is a darker reddish/coppery bronze (read my review here). I chose to boost the red tone even more by wearing Garnet from the LORAC PRO Palette dabbed in the center of the lids, it’s as if they were made for each other! The colour impact of them combined is amazing. On the inner corner I’m wearing a mix of Gold and Nude from the same palette.
