LUSH Aqua Marina Fresh Cleanser

A new friend in my skincare routine is the fresh face- and body cleanser Aqua Marina from LUSH. The days that I have makeup to wash off I use Akoma Skincare Liquid African Black Soap (mentioned in detail here) because it cleans so well, but for all makeup free days it feels when the skin doesn’t need as much cleansing it feels a lot better to use something mild and nourishing. That’s when Aqua Marina does the trick.

The things that the fresh cleansers from LUSH have in common is first of all that they are soap free. No soap base that washes the skin squeaky and dried out are used, instead cleansing clays, oils and scrubs do the trick. They are free from synthetic preservatives (which results in a 4 month shelf life) plus they ome in jars and look more like cookie dough than the liquid cleansers that we’re used to. Take a pinch of the cleanser, add some water and work up a paste that you then apply on your face and/or body. You have the water in your tap, so why buy it in a bottle?

Aqua Marina is vegan friendly, contains cleansing and oil absorbing kaolin clay, calming aloe vera gel and calamine, softening vegetable glycerine, vitamin- and mineral rich nori seaweed.. A lot of nice ingredients that calm and moisturize the skin withoug leaving it greasy. On me it doesn’t get rid of makeup at all, so switch between some rougher face wash or use a good makeup remover before. But for makeup free days this really is heaven, no extra stress on the skin means happier skin days when it has to handle more crap.

The cleanser comes in a cute sushi-like roll covered in seaweed!

IDUN Minerals Single Eyeshadow “Akleja”

Since the launch in 2011 I’ve been loving the Swedish mineral makeup brand IDUN Minerals. Their mineral foundation is one of the best that I’ve ever tried and light beige eye pencil in Sand has been my standard eye brightener for quite a while.

The other day I got a fun package with fall news, for example a lovely soft red lipstick that we’re going to take a closer look at later. The product that got me most curious was the single eyeshadow Akleja, a mineral eyeshadow with peach and gold that swirled together gives the perfect golden apricot glow. The formula is soft and dreamy.

The eyeshadow looks gorgeous in the pan. I was a horrible and curious person and swatched it before taking photos, oops!

The compact is sturdy and feels luxurious.

On the skin, no primer. The perfect brightening shade for tired eyelids!

The Dolce Vita

Those of you who follow me on Instagram have seen the exciting stuff that’s coming up, I’ve got a bunch of Charlotte Tilbury products swatched and ready, soon to be posted! Oohhh the makeup shivers. Let’s start it all with a makeup look including two of the products, ok? The rest comes soon!

So here I’m wearing K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Bitch Perfect, a pinky nude. GORGEOUS colour but formula wise quite standard. Not bad at all but not amazing. For £23 I want luxe!

Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita on the other hand.. An eyeshadow quad in champagne (prime), copper (enhance), gold (pop) and brown (smoke). JEBUS this is gorgeous! I wish the sparkle of the gold would pop in pictures as it does in reality.. I used the shadows “as intended” placement wise, but of course you can do anything you want with it.
