Vulnicura, the most recent album by the queen of Iceland (aka Björk), really stirs up my soul. I have been listening to it non stop lately, and the video for the song called Family is so clever and beautiful, it had me diving into my drawer of single shadows yesterday and I did something (??) inspired by the beautiful colour scheme. Not sure what it ended up being to be honest?

Overall this look is done with ColourPop Hustler eyeshadow, the Viseart Editorial Brights palette and an old green loose pigment with Illamasqua Sealing Gel. All that white stuff is a white foundation brushed all over with a spoolie.

IsaDora Insane Volume Lash Styler Mascara review

New mascara from IsaDora! Insane Volume Lash Styler Mascara is a new release that is supposed to give “intense black lashes with insane volume!”. On the catwalk we see a lot of lash focus so IsaDora decided to follow the trend and create something ballsy. Spider lash club says YAY!

This new release promises a brush with three reservoirs to store extra product that will super-dose your lashes. The formula is soft, flexible and buildable, intense black pigment, fan shaped lashes with “stretch effect” and a long lastning smudge- and clump free finish. Many claims!

This mascara releases next week (week 29) and will cost 169 SEK.

isadora insane volume lash styler mascara

IsaDora Insane Volume Lash Styler Mascara. The brush has a half moon shaped side with harder bristles to separate the lashes, and softer strands on the bottom to lay down product with. Inside the half moon shape you have the hollow reservoirs that hold, as you can see, a crapbunch of product! Bold move IsaDora.

Bare lashes

isadora insane volume lash styler mascara

IsaDora Insane Volume Lash Styler Mascara, about 2 coats.

So what does it do?

Length: 5/5

It manages to catch the ends of the lashes and stretch them that little extra.

Volume: 5/5
No joke, with a few swipes you get enough mascara for five normal applications. It hugs the lashes and fattens them like crazy.

Definition: 4/5
With a little work you get beautiful separated lashes, but with the initial sweeps you get some clumps as the mascara reservoirs puke out product. Good and bad! Wiggle that brush around for a while and use the tip of the brush to separate things and you will get beautiful separated lashes.

Precision: 3.5/5
Better than expected! It needs some extra work to place that large blob of product where you want it, but you can easily maneuver it without smudging it around your eyes. The brush is sleek enough to easily fit into the more delicate inner corners for example.

Effectivity: 4.5/5
This is the first mascara from IsaDora that really catches on in a second. It just delivers, BOOM. But as previously mentioned, it needs a little work to look as fantastic as it can.

Colour: 3.5/5
It’s black, but not HOLY SHIT THAT’S BLACK-black.

Water resistance: 4.5/5
As water resistant as it gets without turning waterproof. I was able to rub my eyes with warm water without anything coming off, but with a second rub it started melting. So don’t worry at all going out in light rain or sweating while wearing it.

Longevity: 5/5
My lashes look exactly the same after six hours of wear. Doesn’t crumble on me like long wearing smudgeproof formulas can tend to do, it just.. wears! Doesn’t lose curl, doesn’t lose the extra length. Just spot on.

Conclusion: 35/40

THANK YOU ISADORA for this release! Finally a mascara that doesn’t excuse itself. It packs a serious punch and you don’t have to worry about it running straight off your face either. A precise brush that is still a bit weird and funny, it just makes sense! This one is straight up there with my all time favourite Too Faced Better Than Sex (review here).

Todays eye makeup was done with the new Inglot palette I mentioned buying in my last post. It’s so pretty! I love how pinks make my eyes seem bright blue, it really brings life to the face without really looking like a ton of weird eyeshadow.

The lip combo is also a current favourite. I did this combo in a haste last week and since then I’ve just kept doing it – it’s NYX Stone lipstick which I define super softly at the edges with a brow pencil. Finally a taupe lip that I actually can wear. Ha!

Inglot Freedom System Palette + Eyeshadow, review & swatches

Men hej!

Oh hello! Not much has happened on here recently as Jerry and I fled the Gothenburg rain for a sunny Stockholm this evening. This Saturday we said goodbye to Black Sabbath with horned hands and dancing feet, the best band aid on what has recently been quite a shitty life, to be honest.

One important thing I wanted to get done on this trip was to visit the (somewhat) new Inglot store in the (somewhat) new Mall of Scandinavia, as I’ve never had the opportunity to shop Inglot in person before. Inglot is a Polish brand which we’ve never had in Sweden before, and finally they’re here! They have a palette system called Freedom System where you pick everything yourself, you choose how many shades you want in your palette and which ones you want to pop in there. All my old palettes are sloppy wish lists sent with friends who are travelling or have been handled online, so it was a lot of fun to finally visit a store and do it myself. I ended up picking a quad with coral hues this time. So cute! The fact that I ended up picking a shade that I already own (and not with the same quality, more info below!) was less great. That’s the problem with systems like this one, if you’re a nerd who own more than you could ever need during a lifetime you might risk mix the colour numbers up and buy dupes.

So I thought (why do I ramble so much today??), why not show you every single one. Just shovel through them! Let’s take a peek at all my Inglot eyeshadows! For prices, check your local Inglot website.

inglot freedom system palette

These are all of my Inglot Freedom System palettes! Apart from these 4, 5 and 10 pan palettes you can also find 1, 2, 3 and 20 pan versions. It’s great to have a few different sizes at home and be able move shadows around into smaller or bigger palettes to fit your current need.

inglot freedom system palette

The Inglot Freedom System palettes + eyeshadows are magnetized, you can pop the shadows out using a magnet and move them around however you want. The magnet on the loose palette lids often work, but sometimes the shadows get stuck and need something stronger. In those cases I tent do go punk and just slap the palette upside down over my palm and the shadow will fall out. Just make sure not to drop the pan when you do it, it will break.

inglot eyeshadow 391, 376, 378, 344, 354, 434, 421, 357, 397, 395

Inglot Eyeshadow in (top row) 391, 376, 378, 344, 354 (bottom row) 434, 421, 357, 397, 395. These are my “neutral” shades, basically smokey shades with a pale and/or shimmery pop. Just the way I like it!

inglot eyeshadow 391, 376, 378, 344, 354, 434, 421, 357, 397, 395 swatch

Inglot Eyeshadow in 391, 376, 378, 344, 354, 434, 421, 357, 397, 395. I could kiss so many asses over this palette, I love every single shade. 376 is my lovechild of the bunch, that one was my eyebrow shade during all the years with black hair, nothing ever replaced it.

inglot eyeshadow 161, 162, 163, 164, 165

Inglot Eyeshadow in 161, 162, 163, 164, 165. These shades are all from this years spring collection called Rise & Shine, blog post about it here.

inglot eyeshadow 161, 162, 163, 164, 165 swatch

Inglot Eyeshadow in 161, 162, 163, 164, 165. These shades are all very similar in formula, creamy sparkly semi-sheer pastels with a slight duochrome sheen. As gorgeous on their own as over a black base.

inglot eyeshadow 340, 428, 494, 407

Inglot Eyeshadow in 340, 428, 494, 407 (don’t ask me where the fifth shade went!). This palette contains my old pan of the golden peach 407.

inglot eyeshadow 340, 428, 494, 407 swatch

Inglot Eyeshadow in 340, 428, 494, 407. All of these shades except for purple 494 is great, that one doesn’t adhere too well and has large chunks of glitter that easily brushes off. Bottle green matte 340 is one of the best Inglot mattes I have! This version of shade 407 is creamy and very intense with very little work, comparing it to the new one further down.

inglot eyeshadow 361, 366, 407, 329

Inglot Eyeshadow in 361, 366, 407, 329. This is the new palette I got in Stockholm this weekend! The shade choices clearly show that I had some kind of flamingo fever. In this palette I have the new version of 407, a comparison with the old version below.

inglot eyeshadow 361, 366, 407, 329 swatch

Inglot Eyeshadow in 361, 366, 407, 329. The matte pinks need a base to apply with full intensity, but even without a base they still apply even. No patchiness on the eyes at all as they blend super smooth, they just need some help with the colour intensity. This version of the golden peach 407 is beautiful and glowy but still a tad drier and less KABOOM than my old one.

inglot eyeshadow 407 old vs. new

Inglot Eyeshadow in 407, old vs. new. Left is from Beautylish 2013, right from the Inglot store in Mall of Scandinavia (Stockholm) 2016. See how they differ? The older one is just more saturated in both glowiness and intensity, plus it is less dry. I would guess that this one has been reformulated some time during these three years.

After seeing this mini tutorial by Harry Makes It Up I felt the need to smack on some coral/lime/blue on my eyes. Such a perfect colour combo! Thanks for the inspo gurl. I went full on colour block, no fuss, not even very blended. To take the overall look down a notch the skin and lips are on the “hyperreal” side, softly flushed colours and faked freckles.

The bright colours I used were from the Viseart Editorial Brights palette, the coral is a mix between the pink and the orange, the lime is a mix between the lightest green and the yellow, plus the already blue mascara got a dusting of the bright blue eyeshadow on top.

I really ended up loving this shade of bright coral and would love to be able to use it without mixing, do you have any tips on eyeshadows like this? Loose or pressed doesn’t matter! Thanks :*
