What’s been on my lips lately?

I’ve been wearing this lip a lot lately and have gotten SO many questions on it, I’m sorry to say that it’s a combo and not a single lipstick! I wish it was, but I haven’t found anything even close to it sadly. Please leave me a comment below if you have any tips on a lipstick this shade!

The products I’ve been layering are H&M Lip Colour-To-Go in Bonne Vivante (glossy mauve pink) with Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Birkin Brown (matte chestnut brown). Together they create this gorgoeus rosy, super comfortable lip that looks flattering with any makeup look I’ve tried it with. Like a rosier version of my old goodie Dolce Vita from NARS!

I first apply a layer of Bonne Vivante on my lips, blending it in with a finger. Not my colour as anything mauve turns into a weird pink on me, but you mauve lovers have to try it out! This formula is super plush and wonderful.

And then a swipe of Birkin Brown on top, blending that in with a finger aswell. The perfect lip!

I wore the same lip combo in this blog post talking about a pair of super cheap false lashes. Link to blog post here.

A big tasty Hypnotic Polish haul

Had a meltdown at Hypnotic Polish the other week (indie nail polish shop based in the Netherlands), and today the nail polishes arrived! You can clearly see what kind of polishes I’m craving, dark and mysterious or sparkly pale flakies. I’m so excited to wear them all! I really don’t know where to start. Which one is your favourite?

hypnotic polish haul

I picked a bunch of different brands this time, as I’m trying both Bow Polish, ILNP and Illyrian Polish for the first time (!?!?).

Cheap eBay false eyelashes – win or fail?

A couple of weeks ago I ordered some false lashes off eBay, hoping that I would be able to find something that measures up to my favourite House of Lashes Iconic ($12/110 SEK a pair, here’s a look wearing those beauties) which are fluttery, choppy and has a fairly thick band that is well shaped and fits my eye perfectly, just smack on and go.

These were my favourites from the three styles I randomly ordered, I paid $3.49 (32 SEK) and free shipping for a box of five pairs which breaks down to about $0.6 (5,50 SEK) a pair. That is NOTHING compared to what lashes usually cost, especially here in Sweden.

First thing I noticed whas that one lash was glued to the packaging so messily the whole lash was covered in glue and totally impossible to use. But for that kind of money I don’t really mind. Just throw it away and pass on to the next one.

The band is quite long so I had to trim a big chunk off the outer corner for them to fit, and with some black DUO Eyelash Adhesive it just laid perfectly into place, no weird poking or bending at all. YESSSS!! WIN! A dab of black liner to hide the edge of the lash band and look at this! Super fluttery and pretty. So happy I found these!

Go check this lash style out on eBay! Clickety click.

Today I finally got around to trying the neon SUVA Beauty Hydra Liners (A LOT of SUVA at the moment but you know how I am, there’s always a brand that gets me extra hyped up), they are water activated paints that you just.. well.. paint your face with. You can either do the same thing as me and blast Venetian Snares and Aphex Twin and just have a creative meltdown, or just use the paints as a neon accent in your more standard makeup looks.

And as always with products like this – If you are going to use it on other people or want the product to stay fresh for as long as possible, scrape a bit out and mix it on a palette instead of going in with the brush straight into the pot! I use them the nasty way because they are MIIINE and won’t touch anyone elses face.

Scrunchie (coral) is my absolute favourite, this formula is super smooth, it applies thick and opaque and the colour is just amazing.
Fanny Pack (green) is okay, it applies so-so on the first swipe but with a second coat it turns quite opaque.
Dance Party (yellow) is the shitty one of the bunch, it was just clumpy and impossible to apply evenly.

You can see the difference in formula on the brushes in the picture below, see how gunky the yellow looks in the brush compared to the coral? In all, get the coral and maybe the green if you crave some neons, you can pass on the yellow.

Available internationally at both Glossgods (SWE) and the SUVA Beauty website (CA).
