Lime Crime Velvetine “Suedeberry”

I’ve been curious to try the Velvetine lip stains from Lime Crime for a long time now, so it was defintely time to do it. They are liquid highly pigmented lip products that dry velvet matte and kiss proof. Six shades are out, I went for two! Let’s start by checking out Suedeberry which is a light red with a warm undertone, they call the colour coral red themselves and I guess that’s about it. It gives true cartoon lips! Matte and electrifyingly bright.

The applicator is a small stiff doe foot, definitely needed for the formula which is thin as water yet super pigmented and dries fast. Precision is the key, because if something goes wrong during the application the mistake is almost impossible to correct. Apply on somewhat even lips, I felt that mine were a tad to dry for this lippie today. It doesn’t feel dry and stiff, more rubberized, but it can look a bit dry. I guess that the darker shades are less sensitive to this. So keep the lips in somewhat good shape and apply thinner coats than you think you need, then you won’t have any trouble, only perfect Jessica Rabbit lips!

I shopped at british Love Makeup because the shades I wanted weren’t all in stock at the Lime Crime webshop when I ordered.

The Lime Crime Velvetines come in a sleek little frosted tube with a red floral cap. So pretty.

Applied straight onto the lips. Don’t they look like cartoon pinup lips?

Fire Red

Todays look! Nothing on my eyes, just a strong brow and bright orange red lips that match my nails. I’m trying out the CND Vinylux nail polishes that are supposed to wear for 7 days without damage, we’ll see how it works or if I’ll get tired of it before it starts looking crappy!

Also I just found the perfect eyebrow match for my new hair, I’m layering Peach Leopard Bronzer from Too Faced on top of my old brow powders. As the hair is a bit lighter than it was before the brows stand out more with my old semi-dark colour, but I really like the lighter hair/darker brows kind of thing.

Cirque “Powwow”

Okay, let’s smack another Cirque Heritage polish up while we’re at it? Pink Powwow will be the one this time. A candy pink with pretty glow and soft pretty rainbows. The polish itself is very pretty but the shade isn’t quite right for my personal taste. Pinks that attract me are either psycho bright, ballet mild or some kind of dusty office tone and this one is a step below being really bright. If you like the shade you’ll adore this polish though. Two coats was needed for full opacity. List of retailers is here, you can buy them now!
