The Truth

Buuuu.

I’ve been super lucky aswell as unlucky recently. My luck is that I found a great eyeshadow palette from BareMinerals Ready line called The Truth. The palette contains classic brown shades, all with varying levels of shimmer. These shadows feel like butter, go on beautifully and best of all – wears incredibly well! I can rarely wear eyeshadows without a primer unless I’m okay with them looking a bit punk after a few hours, but I’ve worn these for more than 9 hours without a primer many times now and not a single time they budged. It’s quite amazing actually.

I’ve had bad luck with the foundation I’m wearing in these pictures though, which is Sheer Cover. It looks very good on the skin and it wears well, but hello, it contains bismuth? I would never had thought that when a product is marketed as skin treating. Bismuth is a heavy metal that many people develop allergies against, especially when the skin gets warm. What you may experience then is redness and itching, the last one is what happened to me. My face itched to PIECES! If your mineral foundation itches you should look for bismuth/bismut/vismut in it. Boooo.

Bronzers for light/fair skin

Finding a bronzer that works on light/fair skin can be hard, they are often orange toned which often looks strange if you don’t have depth in your skintone already.

If you want shimmer in your bronzer or not is mostly a question of taste, but you could basically say that you only use shimmery bronzers on the higher points of your face (or body). Shimmer highlights a surface, so it would be counteractive to for example sculpt underneath a cheekbone with something that brings the area out. You with me? So the matte/semi matte versions are better for bringing out facial features.

Here are some bronzers from my drawers, pressed powders, loose powders and creams, that all work wonderfully on skin that doesn’t have much pigment naturally. Everyone can bronze up!

From the left:

1. Benefit Blush “Dallas”
A rosy brown blush that I use more like a bronzer. The rosy tone makes it a pretty shade to wear all over the cheek while the soft shimmer makes you glow.

2. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer “Milk Chocolate”
The lightest and most neutral regular bronzer I’ve ever found. A great shade for enhancing features, perfect for winter skin. Semi-matte with a skinlike sheen.

3. NARS Bronzing Powder “Laguna”
Like a warmer version of the Too Faced one. Semi-matte with the same skinlike sheen.

4. KICKS Bronzing Powder “Summer in the City”
As warm as I can handle bronzer-wise, the same finish as the last two. Creates that classic hyperreal golden goddess glow on light skin.

5. IDUN Minerals Bronzer “Midsommar”
A loose reddish bronzer that I always come back to, one of my all time favourites because it looks so natural. Gives a beautiful even glow and enhances light skin perfectly.

6. Benefit One Hot Minute
A very light loose powder with a soft sheen, this one is practically useless if you’re not fair skinned because it’s so subtle and ashy, but a GREAT skin enhancer for the fairest.

7. UNE Cosmetics Golden BB-Cream Tan Enhancer “G01″
Another summer product, a golden shimmer cream without too much orange. Could boost a natural tan aswell as it works to warm up one of the cooler bronzers. A lot of shimmer, so this is a definite cheekbone product.

8. Manasi Makeup Lyster Cream Bronzer
Another favourite bronzing product, a whipped cream bronzer with a red undertone and natural glow. This one also enhances a natural tan beautifully, plus the transparency makes it perfect to apply all the way acrosse the cheeks/nose.

9. Daniel Sandler Watercolour Crème Bronzer “Fiji”
The most reddish bronzer out of these, a creme with very slight sheen that no one would ever guess was makeup if you wore it on naked skin. Beautiful transparency.

IsaDora “South Beach” + LA Girl “Splat”

I’m probably wearing the least christmas styled manicure possible at the moment, all the snow and cold that came over us lately just made me want tutti frutti nails so badly!!

The LA Girl Splatter polishes are so pretty, they are speckled with white and another colour, this specific one called Splat is a warm red. I’m wearing it on top of a soft reddish orange which I really think picks the effect up! Bought at Cherry Culture.

If you like the effect then Splatter is nice aswell, the black and white version. Posted a picture of it here!
