Exhibit A

Everyone should own a firetruck red blush. I really think so! When applied very very lightly they flush the skin in the most beautiful way, and this works for any skintone. Lightest to darkest, warmest to coolest. I’ve used Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Devour a lot but that one is discontinued (SO SAD!) so I always feel bad about giving that one as my product tip for you. I’ve been wanting a powder version aswell, eyeing NARS Exhibit A since I saw it in Stockholm last november. A while ago I got it, and this bright bright red works just as wonderfully as the Illamasqua one. Try it out if you haven’t!

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in 100P & 203p

Grymma gloss, ni måste kolla in!

It’s so damn hard to find good lip glosses, right? They can’t be so sheer that the colours all look the same, but they can’t be so pigmented that it turns into a colour goop that you’re just afraid to wear. They can’t be too sticky either because that just makes me want to cry, but not too non-sticky either as that makes them slide around and wear off quickly.

When Sephora just opened here in Gothenburg I bought one of the new Artist Plexi-Gloss from Make Up For Ever, honestly just because of the colour, but I really ended up liking it. Now I’ve got two!  The formula is on the stickier side, but it rather feels like a bouncy lacquer than a stringy goop (hello MAC glosses). They don’t turn into sticky snot after a few hours either (we all know that feeling, many glosses do!), they just stay shiny and lovely even when half of it has worn off. Great glosses, you have to check them out!

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in 100P, 203P. The packaging is nice and sleek, and I love the lip logo at the bottom of the tube.

The applicator is interesting, I have no clue why it has that little slit on the side, but the flexible spatula shape makes it super easy to apply evenly and quickly! One or maybe two pumps is enough to give a nice opacity on the lips.

Bare lips for reference

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in 100P. A light neutral toned beige with soft shimmer. A wonderful shade that brightens without making the lips look whitened, It doesn’t have that “makeup-y” feel either, I’ve worn it with minimal makeup and it looks totally effortless. It matches the pale tone I have at the outer parts of my natural lips, I think that’s why it doesn’t feel “fake” on me.

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in 203P. A rosy pink with golden shimmer. I was drawn to this colour immediately when I saw it, I don’t even know how! Pink glossy lips is not my style at all but this shade just mimics the natural pinky tones I have towards the inside of my lips, so when it’s applied all over the lips it makes them appear super full and fresh! Aaahh such a gorgeous shade.

My skincare routine

Now it’s finally time for a blog post that I’ve thought about writing for a long time, but never really known how to formulate for it to feel understandable. My skincare routine is quite consistent, I barely dare to try new products as my skin is so picky, but I go back and forth between a few different products depending on what my skin needs that day. I ended up breaking it down to four steps, and in each step I included a handful of products with an indication on how often or why I use it. Feels understandable, right?

So, my skin is sensitive, dry and acne prone. All at once. A deep cleaning product can’t for example be too active without me getting dry/excema or even more pimples, and a moisturizing one has to be rich yet “smart” and not clog my pores. AHA acids (fruit acids, exfoliates and helps the skin absorb moisture) is one of my big red flags as my skin almost always reacts badly, then BHA acids (salicylic acids, exfoliate, works more antiinflammatory) work better but still best as a “topping” a few times a week.

Overall my skincare routine is perfume free, calming, moisture binding, balancing and rich in antioxidants. Does that sound like what you need? Read this and see if you find something new to try!

REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Gel

A barely foaming (and therefore not great at dissolving makeup) gel cleanser made for sensitive skin, doesn’t dry my skin out at all. Contains beta glucan which is a calming inflammatory antixodiant, prebiotic oligosaccharides which help the natural protection of the skin by adding good bacteria and calming chamomile.

CAILYN Cosmetics Dizzolv’it Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm

A solid cleansing balm that dissolves ALL makeup when massaged on, then turns into a milk when water is added. Rinses off 100% clean with no oily residue at all. Contains calming and moisturizing aloe vera and calendula flower extract.

Gilda Organic Micellar Cleansing Water

A cleansing water that I like to use after the Cailyn cleansing balm, especially around the hairline and jawline, just to make sure I got all the makeup off. Contains organic plant extracts Propanediol och Bisabolol which cleanses, refreshes and calms the skin.

Foreo Luna for Sensitive/Normal Skin

A cleansing device that you massage your cleanser onto the face with, then you can turn it over, lower the vibration and use the “anti aging side” on wrinkle prone areas. This little thing REVOLUTIONIZED my cleansing! Even very mild cleansers can do a thorough job because of the vibrating knobby bristles, plus the device itself which is waterproof and made of silicone doesn’t gather bacteria. Costs a shitload of money but if mine broke I would get a new one in a heartbeat.

Treatments, the “use when needed” stuff

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

A smooth powder which you add water to and massage over the skin for a minute. It contains papain, salicylic acid and rice enzymes which have a micro exfoliating effect instead of being a classic scratchy scrub. Great for sensitive skin, BHA based which helps calm irritations in the skin and still smoothen it out effectively. Holy grail product!

Bioline Primaluce Exforadiance Brightening Illuminating Mask

A face mask that is good for skin with acne, wrinkles, scars and/or hyperpigmentation. The only AHA product that my skin still really likes! AHA acids for exfoliation and cell renewal, zinc oxide to calm the skin and decrease redness, mandelic (almond) acid which is antibacterial and great against acne aswell as rosacea as it works against inflammations and redness. It also contains hyaluronic acid (which is a sugar molecule, not an acid!) which binds water, great for dehydrated skin! Another holy grail product that I’ve gone through many tubes of.

REN Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Oil

A skim plumping serum oil to apply before moisturizer that optimises the effect of the skincare you put on top. It’s thin and absorbs into the skin very easily, not greasy at all! Contains Omega 3 from brown algae and inca inchi (nut oil) which firms the skin and are rich in fatty acids, Omega 6 and 9 from brown algae calms and soothes irritation, vitamin A from rose hip seed oil stimulates cell renewal, vitamin E from rice germ oil works as an antioxidant.

REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Firming Beauty Shot

A hyaluronic gel serum that absorbs into the skin and gives instant effect, leaving the skin SO plump and soft, even looking brighter right away. Contains hyaluronic acid from yeast biofermentation, one kind that instantly firms and plumps and one that works in the long run. It also contains phycocolloids, a seaweed gelling ingredient, which together with the hyaluronic acid helps hydrate the skin. This is a MOISTURE BOMB.

Evologie Stay Clear cream

A lightweight oil free cream with salicylic acid that helps keep the skin clear without drying it out or irritating it. Contains calming beta glucan and chamomile which helps the skin feel soothed and hydrated instead of stressing it to produce excess oil. A great one for sensitive acne prone skin!

M Picaut Calming Cocoon Cream

A thick balmy cream that nourishes, calms and gives firmness to dry, sensitive and/or mature skin. The main ingredient is avocado oil which contains loads of Omega 9 which binds moisture to the skin, repairs and calms redness, and also contains loads of vitamins and minerals that helps fight free radicals. Contains a bio complex (organic avocado, coconut, wild yams and natural antiinflammatory phytosteroles) that helps balance the skin and add moisture deep into the skin. This is one of my skin besties, it helped me through last winter and it even works during the summer for me. Don’t be afraid of the oily consistency, use it at night and you’ll wake up with the most amazing skin ever!

REN Keep Young And Beautiful Firm and Lift Eye Cream

A lifting and firming eye cream which I use for its excellent consistency, it’s right inbetween a gel and a cream which makes it feel refreshing and still moisturizing. I’m not too picky with anti aging ingredients as I’m only 23 but this one has a bunch of them. Hexapeptide-11 from yeast fermentation that firms and reduces wrinkles, wheat peptides which work as a wrinkle filler, plumping amino acids, alpha-linoleic acid from arctic lingonberry seed oil that brightens and adds moisture, safflower ceramides that binds water and a yeast collagen that increases moisture level.

Cirque Colors “Nympho” (plus an update on my nail reaction!)

Do you remember the nail reaction I mentioned having? Burning sensation, nails becoming loose half way in.. It was because of a Mentality nail polish, they have recalled all nail polishes with a certain base that gave multiple people this allergic reaction, so in case you’ve bought any Mentality nail polish over the last few months you should contact them or your retailer and they’ll guide you!

I decided that I should keep away from nail polish for a month to begin with, now that a month has passed my nails still look like shit but without any more reactions apart from the first days I figured that it should have healed quite well by now, so I just started wearing polish on my short little nails again.

During this naked month I bought this nail polish so that I had something nice to look forward to once I was back on track. Nympho from Cirque Colors is a warm toned neon pink, a SUPER happy colour! I’m not big on neons overall but a sizzling hot pink just frickin gets me. I applied three coats to get it really even, no application problems at all and it dried quite fast. Really great for being a neon! My bottle is from Edgy Polish.

This shade called Bohemian Rose looks wonderful patted on thin aswell as applied smack on, and the formula is super silky which hepls dry lips look nice and moisturized. If you’re thinking about only getting one lipstick from the collection, then I would definitely consider this one!
