NARS Lipstick in Russian Doll is an old shade (you can find some oldies under NARS vintage at the EU website) that doesn’t seem to be available anymore, but I thought I should snap a picture of it when I applied it this morning. Evil, I know! Keep an eye out and get it if you find it, it’s weird and gorgeous! A greyed out earthy plum..? Umm, something like that. The lipstick is quite sheer but buildable, in these pictures I’m wearing a few strokes but a single sweep looks nice aswell! Hello 90′s goth, I like u.

The classic NARS packaging is as pretty as it’s inconvenient, the rubbery tube collects dust and dirt like no other.

How I wore it today, just smacked it on with some heavy lashes and bronzed cheeks.

Here’s what I’m wearing on my face today! I love wearing Lt. Bronze from the LORAC PRO Palette all over the lid, it gives a strong bronze sheen without making my lids look darker which often is the case with those shades. Lashlines are defined with Pewter from the same palette. And no eyeshadow primer! I love this palette to pieces.

Lumene Nude Perfection Fluid Foundation

Eureka!

Eureka! Finally one of all these nude foundations that really is skin-like! Lumene themselves say that the new Nude Perfection Fluid Foundation is “a thin, liquid nude formula that melts into the skin and gives a smooth feeling. It lets the natural skintone show which gives a even and beautiful finish that looks extremely natural. Works great on mature skin as it often looks best in a light, transparent and natural matte finish.”

I’m almost ready to agree! It’s not matte on me at all, it’s more of a creamy glow which looks really flattering on my dry patches, probably a con on oily skin though. So if you easily get shiny then powder well. I’ve found that this foundation applies nicest with my bare hands, one pump is enough for both face and neck and it covers surprisingly well for being so thin and “transparent”. Comes in four shades at the moment, a small range but relatively flexible as the formula has a slight transparency which makes it possible to blend it out on more skin tones.

These are the three shades that I have on hand, there’s also a fourth and darkest one. Here are 1 Classic Beige (neutral), 2 Soft Honey (cool), 3 Fresh Apricot (warm).

My personal wish is to get an even lighter shade in the range, you can see 1 Classic Beige which is the lightest one on my skin below and it’s a tad dark even though it’s totally right in undertone. In a few months when I’ve gotten some spring sun it will be perfect, until then I would wish for a lighter shade. Still I’ll keep using this one, if it’s only blended down the neck properly it honestly makes me look quite fresh.

Bare face, no foundation.

Lumene Nude Perfection Fluid Foundation in 1 Classic Beige applied with my fingers. It evens the skin out beautifully without covering the natural skin. Beautiful! I would still add a dab of concealer here and there, but I always do no matter what foundation I wear.

LUSH Liquid Lipstick “Passionate”

Saw it on a coworker, had to get it. Easy as that. LUSH Liquid Lipstick in Passionate (or Passionerad in Swedish stores) is a hot hot magenta lip stain with a purple/blue glow. It applies very thin and balmy (because of the slick rose wax, candelilla wax and jojoba oil) and with a light blot it dries down and locks in completely. I have worn it entire work days without needing to reapply! No bleeding along the edges either. Perfection! 199 SEK in Swedish stores or at, £14.50 at British stores or at

What’s (actually) in my bag?

I thought I should do this semi-tag-thingy by turning my handbag upside down and see what fell out, then writing a blog post based on it! So here it is, what I’ve thrown into my handbag during the last.. three months? I often reach into my drawers just to find the specific shade that goes with my mood that day, so there’s a lot of random stuff in there!

what's in my bag

Lipstick, oohhh lots of lipsticks. Who’s surprised? I often take reds, dark pinks and plums with me just to be able to top if off during the day. I often stop caring about the lighter shades and apply a lip balm instead when they wear off by lunchtime. Laziness deluxe!

Peggy wanted to keep an eye on the situation so that nothing got out of hand. Nothing to see here, move along!
