YouTube Tip: Lauren Bacall makeup look by Harry Makes It Up

Best combo possible – my YouTube crush Harry Makes It Up does 1940′s makeup (best time period ever) honoring a great actress who recently passed away.

Black Tie

Finally I have pictures of a makeup look where I’m wearing Black Tie from Lipstick Queen! I reviewed it about a month ago, you can read the blog post here! As close to perfection as a dark red lippie gets. Beautifully blue toned without leaning purple, dramatic and dark without feeling blackened and hard to wear. I mean, this makeup look is super simple, the only thing I needed was to apply a bit more cheek makeup than what I would against neutral lips. Dark/bright lips can easily drain the face of colour, so save the blush application to last, then you can easily see how much you will need to come back to life!

KICKS Baked Blusher “Fashionista”

Let’s look at a gorgeous Baked Blusher from Swedish brand KICKS! This is Fashionista, a peachy pink with a gorgeous sheen.

Getting any associations? Well I did! It made me think of the good ol’ classic Orgasm blush from NARS. But how do they compare?

They aren’t dead on dupes. Fashionista is smoother and “shinier” while Orgasm has more of a gritty golden micro glitter. Fashionista looks more cool toned on the skin, and it’s actually a tad nicer in formula even though I love both. Mmmm, budget finds make me happy!

Available at Swedish KICKS for 149 SEK.
